Can anybody give me some tips on doing business with Asian or East Indian Americans.?

Question:

I sell vacation club memberships, and used to sell timeshare. My company is huge, and the resorts are beautiful. The prices are so low, that it ends up being less than the rental price of a roach motel. Why is it that it's virtually impossible to do business with people from that part of the world. They come in for presentations. They take the gifts, year after year. They act interested, and keep you there for 3 or 4 hours after closing time. And when all their questions have been answered, they want to go home and look for a cheaper deal on the internet. Even if they make a written offer, and you accept it, or even give a lower deal, they still take the gifts and run. Then they come back next year for the same routine. What gives?

Answers:

All you need to immediately win their favor is to speak their language (even just several sentences). Us Americans are stereotyped to know only our language and be clueless on the mechanics of other cultures. Look up eye contact, respectful motions, etc. for your specific said nationalities and saying a couple things and making a point of knowing their way (S. Koreans take it as disrespect to make eye contact during conversation) will get them.

Learn the culture and learn how to speak the language.
