Question:
I know I should probably be worried about the way I'm changing. But I can't help but think it might be better this way. Perhaps feeling apart from the rest of the world and not caring about anything will turn out to be best in the end. My question is, why did this happen? Is it a mental illness or just a sort of change that some people experience? Should I try to do anything about it or continue as it is?
Answers:Are you inclined to dissociate far more often than most people would?
probably you just want to feel alone sometime, try to relax, use some traditional relaxation technique like reiki and shiatsu, view:
I think I had the same problem about 10 years ago at 34,do you have anxiety, because that was my problem being self employed nearly killed me my anxiety would cause my heart to race thought it was going to jump out of my chest, the point is,my racing heart caused my blood pressure to go through the roof, ignoring this for years eventually caused 2 strokes at the same time,so please see if you have any risk factors for stroke because believe me I don"t know how old you are but your not to young to have a stroke like me,please talk to your doctor, tell him/her every symptom you have if you don"t your only hurting your self, you don't want to learn the hard way like I did,I truly lost everything home business, wife/kids this isn't a poor me but I want people to know how serious it is,it's been ten years now and still no use of my left arm, disability pays me a third of my old income, credit ruined ,for everyone don't take you arm's leg's for granted ,not trying to scare you but I wish someone scared me ten years ago.
You might also consider doing some volunteer work. Do you sing or play a musical instrument? If so, you might consider singing or playing at a nursing home or other assisted living facility. Many residents don't get any visitors, and they love to hear music. Do you knit, crochet or quilt? If so, perhaps you might want to create a blanket or quilt to donate to a nursing home, or a hospital, or to a shelter. Even one or two hours a month can make a big difference.I would still get a professional opinion though. Just in case. Feeling distant from everything could be a sign of Schizoid Personality Disorder. It isn't a very bad mental illness, though it can lead to depression, and most people with it manage to function within society, but you really should check just in case. It is treatable. Or you could just have avoidance personality disorder.
