Has anybody here ever been injured or gotten sick while on vacation somewhere far from home ...?

I've gotten pretty sick from food poisoning a couple times while traveling abroad by myself. I was happy to be alone and let it run it's course.

All in all my experience the medical personel that treated me were very proffecional and kind!, hope you have (or don't have) the same experience with doctors/hospitals when you go on hols

Yes, my mom got sick in Italy and hurt her back in Spain while traveling with my Dad. The experience was stressful because she is unused to accents (and they couldn't even find someone who spoke English in the area of Spain they were in), but the staff was very courteous and supportive.

i never got sick but my upstairs neighbour did and we are quite close he got maliria while he was in some country in africa i thin ghana or something but he was with with his wife and he got flown back to london and got treated here thankfully he is ok now but i think he was really scared especially when he knew they never had te technolagy to traet him back in africa xx
