Question Re: first day of second grade?

I know the education standard is really high here, the homework isnt what bothers me really. Its mostly that the teacher didnt intorduce herself or send any information home about what my child will be doing on a day to day or weekly basis.

If it were me,I think instead of sending a note I would be heading up to the school to personally speak with the teacher and get the info that I needed for my child.Yes the homework sounds a little excessive but today they expect more from kids.Can you imagine the homework that will be expected in the upper grades? A lot of pressure on the kids now a days.

Sending a note, no matter how well-intentioned it may be, may come across as an attack. Meet the teacher, get a feel for who she/he is and go from there.

I would take a look at the school website and see if it has a calendar and timetable on there. But to be honest I suspect you missed a letter at the end of last year.
